“Happy 4-Year Anniversary Chris!” – Staff Profile: Chris Tiangco

Hello everyone! My name is Chris Tiangco and I’m the lead software developer here at eventIQ. Guess what!? This week, I turn 4 years old here at eventIQ. I can’t believe how time goes by so fast – it seems like just yesterday when I went for an interview with Dave.

Friends ask me why I’ve worked here for so long. Some wonder why I don’t work for bigger companies since I already have the experience and diploma. Honestly, I’ve thought of working for bigger companies before but then I realized one thing that kept me here. It is due to the fact that I’ve always wanted eventIQ to keep on growing and be one of the best software companies out there! In fact, I usually tell my colleagues that I dream of making our small company turn into a multibillion dollar company someday and beat our bigger competitors in The States. Yeah I know it’s ambitious but hey, I don’t think it’s a sin to think that way, right? Another reason why I like working here is that I never really run out of things to do and I learn so many cool stuff from customers, coworkers and the business itself.

Since I’ve been here for the last 4 years, here’s a snapshot (by year) of the things I’ve worked on:

  • 2006 – Implemented CMS for the sites we’re hosting (www.caritashospitalsfoundation.org, www.lakebreeze.ca and www.edmontonsfoodbank.com). I was also the  technical support during this time.
  • 2007 – Built www.cheercards.net and Inviteright Version 1
  • 2008 – Built the reporting engine as well as the Reminders feature for Inviteright. Started work on Inviteright Version 2
  • 2009 – Development of Inviteright Version 2, Group Registrations and the Interactive Floor Map
  • 2010 – A bunch of cool stuff we can’t talk about just yet but stay tuned…!

I’m proud of being an eventIQ crewman and this is my first blog entry. Lots more to come!
