William Arthur Ward (1921-1994) said “feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
Couldn’t have said it better myself, Bill! That is why I’m taking this opportunity to give another thank-you to Cam McMann from Forest Lawn High School. He, along with a team of teachers and students, coordinates grad for his school and this is the first year the Calgary, Alberta school has used InviteRight SchoolTools to sell tickets online for graduation.
Funny thing is, it took us a few years to convince him that SchoolTools was the answer to his long days due to multiple bank deposits and long lineups of parents and students every May. Cam himself will tell you he is no Steve Jobs when it comes to technology so he was hesitant to switch to an online system.
Cam and his entire team of teachers, Sheryl McNamara and Cheri Schwartz, are retiring at the end of the school year. What I find remarkable is that in his final days, Cam still recommends our ticketing system to everyone.
And what are his plans for retirement? He and his wife are moving to Canmore and Cam plans to go hiking three times a week until Thanksgiving. And then…?
And then who knows but he definitely won’t be poking around grad planning at his old school.
“I’m not going to volunteer to organize the grad banquet like my principal has suggested,” he laughed.
Cam, if you’re reading this, people normally heap superlatives on the person or people retiring. I don’t think my thesaurus has enough words in it to describe how much we appreciate your contribution to making InviteRight SchoolTools more popular than ever. So I will leave you with two words:
